Twice a month Samantha creates an atelier environment for kids ages 8-12 to learn to draw and paint from observation, and from historical art masters such as Sorolla and Zorn.

Class takes place in her private studio in Mapleton, Utah or in her yard during good weather for  in "plein air" (outdoors) experience.

Classes include some guided instruction in a classical approach encouraging them to see through visual observation.  We'll study the work of masters, gaining appreciation for high caliber art and learning to understand what makes the work impactful.   *When studying the masters work, subjects will be kept neutral with landscapes, still lifes, and clothed figures.

Opportunities to work from life are an important element in art education, often not experienced by young artists.  In this class Samantha provides them opportunities to create from life and encourages positivity, problem solving, and a willingness to keep improving.
